Arrival to Athens
Arrival to Athens, meeting with our representative and dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Athens city tour
We start our city tour with the Monastery of Kaisariani. We have a brief tour of the grounds, then some time for reflection and our Pilgrims’ prayer to Mary with a time for the pilgrims to share their hopes for the pilgrimage. We then tour the city of Athens, including the Aeropagus where Paul addressed the Athenians, the famed Acropolis. Return to the hotel and dinner. Mass will be celebrated at a local church.
Excursion to Delphi
In the morning we depart to Delphi, the Sanctuary of Apollo and the Oracle of Delphi. We visit the Arch, archaeological sites and the Museum. In the afternoon we return to Athens. Mass will be celebrated at a local church. Dinner is at our hotel and overnight.
In the morning we will have the mass at the city’s cathedral. Later today, we will visit the Archeological Museum, one of the finest in the world. You may also want to visit the New Acropolis museum. Enjoy free afternoon and in the evening dinner in the hotel and overnight.
Cruise 1st day, Mykonos
After breakfast, transfer to the Port of Piraeus to board our cruise ship. When we arrive at Mykonos later this afternoon, we will enjoy walking tour with our guide, through the town’s labyrinth of winding alleyways and whitewashed buildings, basket-laden donkeys, cascading geraniums and upscale shops and cafes. Overnight and dinner on board.
Cruise 2nd day, Ephesus and Patmos
Arrive to Kusadasi. Today we will visit the house of Virgin Mary, Ancient Ephesus, the Great Theater where St Paul preached, and the Basilica of St John. Later this afternoon, we arrive to Patmos. Our tour takes us to the grotto where St. John lived and the nearby Monastery, built on one of the island’s highest points, housing priceless icons and manuscripts in its Treasury. Return to the ship for dinner and overnight.
Cruise 3rd day, Rhodes
This morning we arrive to Rhodes and transfer to Lindos, one of the most important of the three great cities of ancient times. From the Acropolis of Lindos, we marvel at the breathtaking views covering the great expanse of the Aegean Sea and St. Paul’s Bay, where the Apostle Paul cast anchor during his historic route to Ephesus. Return to Rhodes for a walking tour through the medieval city. Follow your guide through the northern part where once lived the knights and their attendants. View the Palace of the Knights and continue your walk down Chevaliers Road. Return to the ship for dinner and overnight.
Cruise 4th day, Crete and Santorini
The ruins of Knossos—the capitol of Minoan Crete and today the island’s major tourist attraction—are just five kilometers from Heraklion city center, and our shore excursion will take us to see this fascinating site. We return to the ship to continue sailing to Santorini. This striking island, with breathtaking panoramas and rugged landscapes, is actually a volcanic crater slightly immersed in the sea. Our walking tour includes Oia and Thira Villages. We return to our ship for dinner and overnight.
Return to Piraeus, excursion to Argolida
In the morning we return to the Port of Piraeus and transfer to Corinth. Here Paul spent 18 months, preaching to the Jews and Gentiles. We celebrate our liturgy today in Corinth with a reflection on Paul the Missionary. We complete our day in Epidaurus, one of world’s best-preserved amphitheaters with remarkable acoustics. Afternoon return to Athens, dinner in the hotel and overnight. Optionally we can organize a Greek night with traditional live music and folklore show.
