Day 1 – Athens – Karpenisi – Panta Vrechi Canyon 4x4 Adventure Route: Athens – Lamia – Karpenisi – Roska – Panta Vrechi Canyon

Arrival at Athens International Airport and meet your guide for vehicle briefing before starting the Greece 4×4 adventure expedition.

Drive north through Schimatari, Livadia and historic Thermopylae, then climb the mountain road via Makrakomi and Tymfristos Pass to Karpenisi, the alpine capital of Evrytania.

Continue by jeep through Roska village to reach the hidden Panta Vrechi Canyon. The off-road track follows the Krikelopotamos River through forest trails, rocky terrain and shallow river crossings.

Drive via Mikro Chorio toward Lake Kremasta, the largest artificial lake in Greece, created by the Acheloos River dam. The route includes off-road forest tracks and gravel mountain roads offering panoramic views over the lake and surrounding peaks.

Continue along the Tavropos River valley, following dirt trails used by shepherds and forestry vehicles. Stops allow photos of the dramatic landscapes of Central Greece’s Pindus Mountains.

Drive via Domnista village and cross the alpine landscapes of Elati and Pertouli, famous mountain resorts of Trikala. Enter the remote Aspropotamos Valley, source region of the Acheloos River, known for traditional Vlach shepherd settlements.

Stop for coffee by the lakeside before continuing south via the E65 Central Greece Highway and joining the A1/E75 Athens–Lamia motorway toward Athens.
