Leaving the capital behind, the landscape gradually changes from urban scenery to rolling hills and open countryside. The road winds through fertile plains, traditional villages, and expansive olive groves that stretch across the valleys of Boeotia and Phocis.
As the journey continues, beautiful views appear across the Corinthian Gulf, where the deep blue sea contrasts with the surrounding mountains.
Approaching Mount Parnassus, the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic. Pine forests, rocky slopes, and panoramic viewpoints dominate the landscape before reaching the mountain village of Delphi, spectacularly positioned on a hillside overlooking one of the most impressive valleys in Greece.

Day 2 – Delphi to Meteora: One of the Most Beautiful Scenic Drives in Greece
After breakfast enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere surrounding Delphi, located on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. The site overlooks a vast landscape of olive trees stretching to the sea, creating one of the most famous panoramic views in Greece.
Depart for Kalabaka and Meteora on a scenic journey across the heart of mainland Greece. The drive passes through wide agricultural plains, small rural villages, and changing landscapes that gradually lead toward the mountains of Thessaly.
As you approach Meteora, the scenery transforms dramatically. Gigantic stone pillars suddenly rise from the valley floor, creating a surreal and breathtaking landscape unlike anywhere else in Europe.
These towering rock formations, sculpted by nature over millions of years, dominate the horizon and create an extraordinary natural monument.
Arrival in Kalabaka, a small town nestled beneath these magnificent cliffs, where sunset views over the Meteora rocks create an unforgettable atmosphere.
Dinner and overnight in Kalabaka.
Day 3 – Meteora Landscapes, Pindus Mountains & Zagori Stone Villages
Leaving Meteora, the journey continues deep into the Pindus Mountains, often called the “spine of Greece.” This region offers some of the country’s most untouched nature, with dense forests, mountain rivers, alpine scenery, and winding mountain roads.
A stop in Metsovo reveals a charming mountain village surrounded by forested slopes and high peaks. Wooden balconies, stone houses, and mountain air give the village a true alpine character.
Later arrive at Ioannina, beautifully set on the shores of Lake Pamvotida, where calm waters reflect the surrounding mountains. Continue into the Zagori region, famous for its historic stone-built villages, arriving in Monodendri near the spectacular Vikos Gorge.
Dinner and overnight in Monodendri.
Day 4 – Kastoria Lake Landscapes & Edessa Waterfalls
After breakfast depart through the scenic landscapes of Northern Greece, where mountains gradually open into green valleys and lakeside regions.
Arrive at Kastoria, one of the most picturesque towns in Greece. The town is built on a narrow peninsula surrounded by the tranquil waters of Lake Orestiada. The scenery here is particularly peaceful: tree-lined lake promenades, reflections of traditional mansions in the water, and distant mountain views create a magical atmosphere.
Continuing eastward, the landscape becomes greener as rivers and fertile plains dominate the scenery. Arrival at Edessa, a town famous for its impressive waterfalls, considered the most beautiful in Greece. The waterfalls plunge dramatically over cliffs into lush gardens and walking paths filled with greenery, mist, and panoramic viewpoints.
Later continue toward Thessaloniki, where the mountains gradually give way to coastal landscapes along the Thermaic Gulf.
Dinner and overnight in Thessaloniki.
Day 5 – Thessaloniki Seafront & Coastal Landscapes
Today explore Thessaloniki, Greece’s vibrant northern capital located along the shores of the Thermaic Gulf. The city combines urban energy with beautiful seaside scenery.
A walk along the Thessaloniki waterfront promenade offers sweeping views of the sea, distant mountains, and passing sailboats. The lively atmosphere is enhanced by cafés, parks, and public art installations along the coastline.
The city’s symbol, the White Tower, stands proudly on the seafront where locals gather to enjoy the breeze and sunset views. Aristotelous Square opens toward the sea and is surrounded by elegant architecture and vibrant city life.
Throughout the day there will be opportunities to explore markets, charming neighborhoods, and scenic viewpoints along the waterfront. Thessaloniki’s relaxed rhythm and maritime atmosphere make it one of Greece’s most pleasant cities for walking and enjoying the coastal landscape.
Dinner and overnight in Thessaloniki.
Day 6 – Pelion Mountains: Forests, Villages & Aegean Views
After breakfast depart south through the fertile landscapes of Macedonia and Thessaly, where vineyards, farmland, and distant mountain ranges create a beautiful rural panorama.
After a short stop at Vergina, continue to the coastal city of Volos, dramatically located between the sea and the lush mountains of Mount Pelion.
The road climbs steadily into the Pelion Mountains, one of the greenest regions of Greece. Thick forests of chestnut, beech, and oak trees cover the slopes, while mountain streams flow through deep valleys.
Arrival in Portaria, a picturesque village known for its traditional stone houses, cobbled paths, and flower-filled courtyards. From many viewpoints the landscape opens toward the Pagasetic Gulf, offering stunning sea and mountain scenery at the same time.
Dinner and overnight in Portaria.
